Today we’re listing out a ton of questions that are helpful to ask potential venues when you tour! As a former bride myself, I understand just how hard it is to find a wedding venue. I put together this list in hopes of making it just a little easier for you!

- Do you provide a coordinator and what are their duties? (A venue coordinator is NOT the same as a day of coordinator or wedding planner.) Each venue provides a different amount of services, so never assume something will be provided because your friends venue did it! This goes for all vendors. Most venues focus heavily on their aspect: decor, rentals, vendor set up, dinner, etc. It’s rare to find a venue that helps facilitate your timeline (as thoroughly as needed) and your getting ready aspect, unless it’s on property. This is one of the most important wedding venue questions as it directly affects the way your day will flow! Being prepared is key! -Fee for weekday vs weekend? (Most venues have tiers where Monday through Friday is cheapest, Sunday slightly more, and Saturday the most expensive)


-Handicap accessible? (ADA Compliance ensures your disabled guests have the accessibility they need! What if a guest broke their leg a week before and can’t make it up a flight of stairs for your ceremony?)


-Rehearsal included?


-Hidden fees or tax?

-Who is my point of contact?

-What’s included with your price? (Is it just venue rental itself? Or does it include any rentals like tables, chairs, decor, food, DJ, the venue coordinator, and so on.)

-What do you require I purchase through your venue? (Alcohol, catering, servers, bartenders, coordinators, rentals, etc) This is one of the most important wedding venue questions as well. Its essential to know what youre walking into before you sign so that you have clear expectations and understanding!

-How many hours do I get the venue for? (Not just ceremony and reception. Are we able to get ready there? How early can we arrive to set up and what time is our absolute end time for cleaning up after?)

-Am I allowed to bring in outside vendors? (Is there a fee?)

-What’s your indoor ceremony option if it rains? (Whats the lighting like?)

-When are my fees to you due?

-Do you provide event insurance or do I need to purchase my own?

-What are you vendor recommendations? Do you provide in house entertainment?

-What are your spending minimums?

-Can we bring pets to the ceremony?

-Are we allowed to bring family or friends in early to do photos or to help with set up?

-Do you have a fridge for our cake?

-What is the parking like?

-Do you have a bridal suite on premises?

-Do you help tear down and box up our stuff at the end?

-What is the deposit?

-Do you have reviews I can see? Many venues/vendors have their reviews on google like this
